516 Student Ministry exists to challenge students to know Jesus and make Jesus known. The Attic and 516 Student Ministry is intended to be a place where any student in any walk of life can come to feel known and loved, while being encouraged to grow closer to Jesus. 516 comes from Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." We strive to train and equip students to become leaders that own their faith and shine their light for Jesus in the world.
FUEL is our Sunday morning gathering for 7th-12th grade students. FUEL exists for students to come and connect with others on a weekly basis to be FUELED up for the upcoming week by studying God’s Word together. During this time we engage in Worship, study Scripture as a large group, and then break up into small groups. Students are divided into small groups based on gender and age to further discuss the lesson with committed adult leaders. FUEL takes place in the Attic (upstairs youth room) at 11:15am.
Discipleship Groups are for 7th-12th grade students and consist of 4-6 students and one adult leader. Discipleship challenges students to honor God in every area of life through committed relationships. In Discipleship Groups, students experience in depth Bible study, prayer, and accountability. Weekly meetings are at a time and place of the group's choice.
ANTHEM is our weekly Worship service held every Wednesday night for 7th-12th grade students. We have Worship, a Biblical message, and a lot of fun. We’ve been known to have photo booths, mechanical bulls, human size hamster ball races, sumo wrestling and ultimate Nerf Gun wars. It’s a great time for students to bring their “unchurched" friends to experience Jesus in a more relaxed church setting.
Fall retreat is November 22-24th at Sabine Creek Ranch in Royse City, Texas. This is an awesome weekend for students to unplug and reconnect with each other and Jesus. During Fall Retreat we have multiple Worship sessions with a band and guest speaker to share a Biblical message. Students also engage in small groups with an adult leader to discuss the message on a deeper level and apply it to their lives. This is one of our favorite weekends of the year, don’t miss out!
