Favorite Place to Eat or Chill:
If we’re eating out, that means it’s DATE NIGHT! :) You’ll usually find Matt and me sitting on the patio at Gloria’s at the Toyota Music Factory Plaza. We’re either sharing steak quesadillas or combo fajitas — but most importantly, we’re locked in a fierce competition over who gets the last scoop of their amazing black bean dip.
On Friday nights, you can enjoy live music and hang out on the lawn at The Plaza. We’ve heard some great cover bands after dinner — it’s got that fun, hometown vibe that makes for a perfect night out.
Favorite Outdoor Activity:
I love to run! The trails around the ponds near Rochelle & Northgate are beautiful, and if you're up for a challenge, there are some great hills to work your heart. Just watch out for the geese — they’ve been known to chase runners (adds to the adventure, right?).
For families, Cottonwood Creek Park off Story Road (just north of Northgate) is a great spot. It’s got a baseball field that’s perfect for a competitive game of kickball — and in my opinion, any park that’s down the street from a Braum’s is worth visiting. Kickball + ice cream = perfect day. ;)
For dog lovers, we enjoy taking our pup Auggy to the dog park along Campion Trails near Riverside and California Crossing. It’s a great place to let the dogs run and meet other fur-families.
Favorite Place to Shop:
Okay, I don’t love to shop, but I do own cars — and cars need maintenance. So I find myself at Rick’s Car Care on Irving Blvd or Belt Line more often than I’d like to admit. They’re friendly, trustworthy, and always do a great job for a fair price. Say hi to my friend Brian if you stop in — he knows the Peacock family well. :)
Favorite Community Event:
The Irving Marathon organization puts on awesome races throughout the year, and I love that every event benefits the Irving Schools Foundation. It’s a great way to support our local students — and get your steps in while you’re at it!
