WHAT IS RE:NEW?
We grow in Christ as we seek him together. Jesus' own pattern of disciple-making was to be intimately involved with others and allow life to rub against life. By gathering in groups of three or four people to study the Bible and encourage one another, we most closely follow Jesus' example with the twelve disciples. Re:new is designed to help you follow this pattern Jesus drew for us. Working through it will deepen your knowledge of essential Christian teaching and strengthen your faith. Each week contains the following elements:
- a core truth presented in a question-and-answer format
- a memory verse and accompanying study
- an inductive Bible study
- a reading on the theme for the week
- questions to draw out key principles in the reading
Jesus had a big enough vision to think small. Focusing on a few did not limit his influence. Rather, it expanded it. Re:new is designed to help us influence others as Jesus did―by investing in a few.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Re:new groups meet once a week to learn what it means to be a follower of Jesus. They are designed to last anywhere from 6 months to a year depending on the group.
WHY MICRO GROUPS VS. SMALL GROUPS OR SUNDAY MORNING STUDIES?
We’ve found that micro-groups lead to an intense season of personal spiritual growth. They provide a safe place to get honest about who we are as men and women as well as to be held accountable to one another. At Christ Church, we are committed to developing disciples. Biblical knowledge is important, but God’s intent was not that we simply gather information but that there would be a transformation as we apply His Word to our lives. We have found that smaller groups or micro-groups of men or women is the best way to do that.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We ask for a $10 donation to purchase either a Discipleship Essentials or Flourish book. If cost is an issue, please let one of our leaders know; we never want finances to keep you from moving forward=d in your journey with God.
WHEN IS RE:BORN? IS IT AVAILABLE ONLINE?
Each Re:new micro group is uniquely organized to meet the needs of the group. The group leader will work with the other members to determine the regular meeting time and place. If for whatever reason an online group works best for you in this season of life, simply let us know when you sign up and we will work to help find you a group to make that happen.
IS THERE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE?
Since our Re:new groups meet at different times and locations there is no formal childcare available. However, we are willing to do whatever is necessary for you to be a part of the group. If childcare is a need, please let us know and we will connect you to babysitters or we will reimburse you for the cost of hiring your own. Your participation is what matters and we’re committed to helping you to be a part.
